POWERLIFTING FOR JASON

Jason is 15 years old. He was born with a rare genetic syndrome called Mosaic Trisomy-8. Throughout his life, Jason has courageously overcome many medical and developmental obstacles. From a lifesaving heart surgery at 2 months old, and a scoliosis repair at age 10 that left him with a metal rod which extends the length of his back and over a year of physical therapy to re-learn how to sit up, stand and walk, Jason has always persevered with strength and grace. He never complains or gives up. In fact, it is his personality which keeps everyone around him strong during the most difficult times. Jason loves to paint and draw; listening to music and playing the drums, guitar and keyboard; he is a member of the Drama Club, Lego Robotics and the Chorus at The Grace School. He loves learning about Science and Math, especially with his friends. Even though Jason is unable to speak, he communicates with his friends and the world through his art, music, technology and the charismatic way he has about him.
